A comprehensive, structured, chemical abuse recovery program for adolescents and their families. Overview The Van Ost Institute's Adolescent IOP is for teens, ages 13 through 17, suffering from addiction to, or abuse of, alcohol and other drugs, where the severity does not warrant inpatient treatment. Consistent with its founding mission, the primary goal is to treat families as well as individuals affected by chemical dependency, helping to restore them to fulfilling and productive lives. Assessment & Treatment Monitoring Psychosocial assessments are done with all potential patients with family member input, whenever possible. Individualized treatment planning includes problem formulations, treatment goals, and treatment objectives. Patients are scheduled to attend from 1 to 9 hours per week over 1 to 5 days per week, determined by need. Admission Criteria
Referring agencies can help expedite the evaluation process by forwarding relevant clinical documents. Length of Treatment Length of treatment will vary with the severity of the patient's illness and the patient's response to treatment. Patients who exhibit symptomatology indicative of a more intense program will average 4 to 6 months in treatment. During phase 1, patients will attend a 1 1/2 hour psycho-education and therapy group two times per week, and will participate in weekly hour long individual therapy/ progress review sessions. Random urine testing will be done at the discretion of the therapist or as requested by the referent. The fourth night will consist of an hour long family therapy session to round out the therapeutic process. |
