Take this quick C.A.G.E. Test

It will tell you if you or someone close to you has a problem with alcohol or other drugs.

C is for CUTTING DOWN
Have you ever tried to CUT DOWN your drinking or drug use to get it under control? (Have you tried to get him or her to cut down?)
 
A is for ANGER
Have you ever gotten ANGRY when confronted about your drinking/using? (Has he or she gotten angry when you talked about the "problem"?)
 
G is for GUILT
Have you ever felt GUILT about your actions resulting from drinking or taking drugs? (Have you felt guilty or responsible for his or her drinking or using?)
 
E is for EYE-OPENER
Have you ever had a drink or drug is the morning as a calmer or PICK-ME-UP, or just to "feel better"? (Has he or she used a drink or a drug to get going in the A.M.? This includes aspirin, Advil, etc.)
 

A yes answer to any one question could indicate a problem with chemical dependency or codependency

Screening for Alcoholism:

"CAGE" Found Better Than Lab Tests

In a study of 915 randomly selected patients admitted to the University of Michigan Hospital, asking the CAGE questions was a better predictor of alcohol dependence than a combination of lab tests including uric acid, lactic dehydrogenase creatinine, sodium, potassium, chloride and tests of blood cells.
